In the span of one week we’ve seen two prominent adult companies make announcements that they were cutting back on ’staff’ as a means of bringing better service to customers.
BOTH COMPANIES ARE FULL OF SHIT.
No one in the adult business buys into the Ninn Worx press release where they announced they had severed ties with contract star Cassidey because they couldn’t justify paying her a contract rate when other girls are available cheaper or the AVN press release where they announced ’streamlining’ THEIR COMPANY BY AXING 16 PEOPLE will help better serve customers. BULLSHIT.
Is it so hard to simply say, ‘We’re not making the money we use to because the entire industry is down, so we have to lay people off.’ Does Michael Ninn think we’re all going to think less of his movies if he says he’s not making the money he’s accustom to? Or will anyone think less of Paul Fishbein if his sales are down due to companies closing down and growth declining?
When General Motors announces a plant closing, do they say it’s to better protect the environment? No, they come right out and say, ‘our earnings are poor, so we need to close a plant and lay people off.’
Are the people in the adult industry so arrogant they can’t publicly admit they’re dying a slow death?
To say that Ninn Worx got rid of Cassidey because they could not justify her monthly contract amount when other girls are cheaper is both a slap in the face to Cassidey and again, an insult to the porn community.
When NOT under contract, any company could hire Cassidey for $1300 for a Boy/Girl day rate. And more than likely she’ll be on the box cover of every title she appears in. Which means if Cassidey shoots for 10 companies in the month of May we can expect to see her regularly week after week after week appearing on the box of new releases from several companies, and as a consumer I can simply pick a title I want to see her in from a company I like. However, if Cassidey is EXCLUSIVE to one company, then if you ever want to see Cassidey in something NEW and CURRENT, then you can only buy from the company she’s under contract to. You PAY for the exclusivity you bozo! Instead of 100 people picking and choosing which company to purchase a new Cassidey title from, they are all forced to pick just ONE company if they want to see something new from Cassidey.
Michael Ninn is an incredible videographer and director, absolutely amazing, but this is porn not Paramount Pictures. The days of James Avalon, Andrew Blake and Michael Ninn huge budget features are dead. Not because the quality is poor, but because no one cares about the porn features anymore. Porn sells because of the sex, not the dialogue, not the fancy sets, the sex!!! Features are to gonzo, what VHS was to DVD, and what DVD is now to VOD.
If you were standing in line at a video store, had a major urge to pick a DVD, get home and pop a load really bad… would you pick a new Ninn-Worx dvd with Cassidey on the cover or a new Zero Tolerance DVD with Cassidey on the cover. Simple, ZT - because you know you’re going to get right to the sex, you won’t have to fast forward through 15 minutes of artsy costumes, setups and dialogue! WHO CARES!!! But if NINN is the only company she’s shooting for, then you HAVE to buy it!
Cassidey, Bree Olson, Ava Rose, Courtney Cummz, Kirsten Price… all these girls are worth every penny of their contracts - because without them under exclusive contract their respective companies sales would drop far more than the monthly expense of a contract. Truth is people pay to see those girls perform, and if you can only buy from one company exclusively, so be it!!!
So to the bean counting CEO of Ninn Worx who insulted Cassidey and all of us, if you’re in financial trouble that’s ok, the entire industry is.
As for AVN, come on!!!! You’re losing share to XBiz, advertisers are cutting back, pulling out or going out of business, your revenues are down, way down! You lay off 16 people and say it will help better serve your customers. Ya, ok! I went to Starbucks this morning and there were 4 people helping customers standing in line, smooth and quick. Imagine if there were just one person helping all those people in line, pure chaos. Your math doesn’t add up. Just face it, admit it, you’re not invincible and the money is slowing down, it’s ok.
